Managing Clients
Learn how to view, edit, and manage your existing clients
Viewing Your Clients
To see all your clients:
- Click Clients in the sidebar menu
- The client list shows all clients with their type, contact info, and status
- Use the search box to find a specific client by name
- Click column headers to sort the list
Viewing Client Details
Click on a client's name to see their full profile, which includes:
- Overview - Contact details, address, and notes
- Sites - All locations for this client
- Contracts - Service agreements and pricing
- Recent Jobs - Latest scheduled and completed work
Editing a Client
To update client information:
- Go to the client's profile page
- Click the Edit button
- Update the fields you need to change
- Click Update Client to save
Editable fields include: Name, contact details, address, client type, payment terms, billing email, and notes.
Changing Client Status
Clients can have one of three statuses:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | Current client - can have jobs scheduled |
| Inactive | Paused client - no new jobs, but history preserved |
| Archived | No longer a client - hidden from main lists |
To change status, edit the client and select the new status from the dropdown.
Deleting a Client
To delete a client:
- Go to the client list or client profile
- Click the Delete button
- Confirm the deletion when prompted
Important: Deleting a client will also remove all associated sites, contracts, and job history. Consider setting the client to "Archived" instead to preserve records.
Filtering and Searching
Find clients quickly using these options:
- Search - Type in the search box to filter by name or email
- Sort - Click column headers to sort by name, type, or status
- Filter by Type - Use the type filter to show only Commercial, Residential, etc.
Quick Tips
Keep information current
Update contact details when they change to ensure communications reach the right people.
Use notes wisely
Add important information like preferred contact times or special requirements.
Archive instead of delete
Archiving preserves history for reporting and future reference.
